Zhang Beiwen and Hendra Wijaya, two of Singapore’s finest shuttlers, will be suspended from their national training camp for a period of three months starting now, according to Singapore daily The Straits Times. Both shuttlers are said to have missed training or showed a bad attitude during training sessions. Zhang will be deprived of her salary for 3 months while doubles specialist Hendra will be getting only half of his salary. This comes at a bad time as both were to be among Singapore’s best hopes for home success at the Li-Ning Singapore Open Super Series, which will take place next month, from June 15th to 20th.
Fans, however, are in for a surprise as a first time event involving fans and stars is on the way…
