“Zheng Yu-min, former men’s doubles coach left the team last month,” said spokeswoman of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, “At the same time, Tan Fook has confirmed that he will be our visiting coach but the details of his coaching are yet to be confirmed.”
Zheng Yu-Min is the husband of Wang Chen, with whom Badzine met for a feature to come. The Hong Kong team has been longing for a doubles specialist to train their players and help them to be more competitive in team events. Tan Fook married Athens Olympics women’s doubles gold medallist Zhang Jiewen last year and has been living in Guangzhou since then.
Choong Tan Fook is still playing at high level – his current ranking is 10th in men’s doubles, and he achived quarter-final berth recently, in the Yonex All England, in March.
