INDONESIA OPEN 2010 – SOLIBAD’s first Super Series steps

Jakarta became the proud host of Solibad’s first ever Super Series official partnership. After a great gesture by Hans Kristian Vittinghus to wear the first Solibad shirt in Singapore Open Super Series, Solibad created another sensation in the badminton world the week after, at Djarum Indonesia Open Super Series 2010.

Situated in Badminton City inside the Istora Senayan Stadium complex, the Solibad booth was hardly visible on the semi-final day on Saturday 26th June 2010 : A huge crowd was gathered outside the booth  and hiding it as Taufik Hidayat, Solibad’s Ambassador for Indonesia, graced his presence there to give out autographs to visitors of the booth who made financial donation to the organisation.

Within a span of 10 minutes after his semi-final victory, Taufik has attracted more than 100 visitors to the booth to get their shirts and other merchandise signed by the Olympic Games and six-time Indonesia Open Champion. This definitely boosted badminton supporters’ awareness of the badminton-inspired charity organisation.

Participants stood a chance to win attractive prizes with every donation given, including Taufik Hidayat’s autographed shirt. Some money was collected all week for the various projects coordinated by SOLIBAD, in Bali, Haiti and Kuala Lumpur.
