China’s Lin Dan received the “Most Valuable Player” award on Friday in Guangzhou for his achievement in the badminton event, scooping the only major title which had eluded him until now. The votes were made by 2,000 media representatives who had been covering the Games. The Chinese superstar will receive an added US$50,000 to go along with his award.
