According to the Star, one of the decisions taken during the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s council meeting held this week in Kuala Lumpur is to upgrade their Super Series from US$250,000 to US$400,000, which will even exceed the prize purses of some of the new Premier Super Series events: the US$350,000 Denmark, All England and China Opens.
This is good news for the badminton community with greater incentive as early as January 2011, right before the Korea Open with its record US$1.2 million at stake. Along with the Super Series Finals two weeks earlier this will be a month with over $2 million in prize money on offer.
