2008 champions Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong were forced to sit out their last match of group play today at the Victor BWF 2010 Super Series Finals in Taipei. It was an elbow injury to Koo that deprived fans of a repeat of the 2010 World Championship final. The match would not have affected group standings, as China’s Cai Yun / Fu Haifeng had beaten their compatriots in their first match and would thus have finished ahead of them even in the event of a loss to the Malaysians.
