South African juniors beat their alter ego from Mauritius on Wednesday, in the final of the team even of the ongoing African championships, in Maputo, Mozambique. The South Africans won 3/1, thanks to their victories in the mixed doubles, women’s doubles and men’s singles, while Mauritius kept their hopes alive when Kate Foo Kune – younger sister of Olympian Karen and a participant in the 2012 Youth Olympics – won her match to make it 1/2 before South Africa scooped the remaining point.

Egypt took the Bronze medal after defeating Algeria 3/0.

The individual event started right after.
