It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing away of former top Thailand player Pramote Teerawiwatana at the age of 45 in Bangkok today after a long battle with cancer. The shuttler, who partnered Tesana Panvisvas in the last of his three Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 before retiring at the age of 37, had been one of the best Thai shuttlers all around. He had taken the position of a coach at Thailand Badminton Association before the illness struck. Pramote leaves a wife and children behind him and will be greatly missed by all in the badminton community.
