Japan’s top women’s singles player of the last ten years, Eriko Hirose, announced her retirement from competitive badminton during the All Japan Championships. There was a ceremony at the event celebrating the twenty-nine year-old Inagawa-born player’s brilliant decade-long career, which propelled her to finals of prestigious tournaments such as the All England and the Japan Open.
