The former Malaysian shuttler who had to wait for 6 years to get her French citizenship seems to be under a curse: Sashina Vignes Waran, freshly crowned National Champion for the second time in France in February and looking forward to represent France in the Rio Olympics, suffered a major during the French International Challenge last weekend. The results from the MRI came in this morning and the cruciate ligament of her right knee are torn, which means the French shuttler will have long months of rehabilitation before she can step on a court again. It’s a disaster for Vignes, who will be struggling to get enough points to get to Rio in 2016.

We at Badzine wish her a speedy recovery…
