Mixed doubles is definitely expected to be Denmark’s ace in the hole this year.  Not only is 2009 World Champion Thomas Laybourn slated to appear again with partner Kamilla Rytter Juhl after a 5-month layoff but Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen are on the list and on a roll, having won their last meetings with the top pairs from China, Korea, England, and Chinese Taipei.

Both Fischer Nielsen and Peter Gade have been looking strong since each had a bout with injuries early in the year.  However, Tine Baun missed the All England with an injury in March and  had a cautious dry run at the India Open.  But while World Champion Wang Lin is still able to sit out the Sudirman even after two respectable Grand Prix Gold showings, Tine will really be counted on to deliver women’s singles points for Denmark.

Baun, of course, missed the last Sudirman Cup and Denmark was forced to go right to the wire with England for 5th place when Baun’s sole understudy, Nanna Brosolat Jensen, had to forfeit the fourth installment of her solo women’s singles performance that week.  This time around, Baun will be backed up by Czech International winner Karina Jørgensen.

WS: Tine Baun, Karina Jørgensen
WD: Kamilla Rytter Juhl / Christinna Pedersen, Line Kruse / Marie Røpke
XD: Joachim Fischer Nielsen / Christinna Pedersen, Thomas Laybourn / Kamilla Rytter Juhl
