At a special reception in the Yonex VIP room Mr Yoneyama (pictured) was on hand to present the official certificate from the famous publication to Tan Boon Heong.

“We just received the news only a few days ago that the had been verified and we are happy to present the certificate here today at the 100th All England,” said Mr Yoneyama.

The members of the media were invited to take on the challenge of setting the speed for the fastest smash with Raphael Sachetat of Badzine and Badmintonphoto taking first place with a speed of 156km per hour. Roars of ‘fix’ could be heard around the room as second place went to another Badmintonphoto photographer Yohan Nonotte. It must be something to do with the arm muscles of photographers as they spend all day carrying camera equipment weighting up to 10 kilograms!  As the old saying goes ‘No Pain, No Gain’
