The seedings have been published for the upcoming BWF World Badminton Championships. The seedings are based on July 18th BWF world rankings and will be determiners in the World Championships draws, which will be done in Guangzhou on Monday, July 22nd at the Chateau Star River Hotel Haiyi Peninsula.
Predictably, China leads the way in the seedings, with 16 of their players among the top 16 in their respective disciplines. They are followed by Indonesia with 12 and Korea with 10 but only China, Indonesia, and Thailand have seeded entries in all five disciplines as Korea is without a men’s singles seed. Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei is the top seed in men’s singles and Ko Sung Hyun / Lee Yong Dae of Korea top the men’s doubles seeds but China has the top two seeds in women’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles.
