Poland Mateusiak and Zieba (former Kostiuczyk) beat the world champions Laybourn and Rytter-Juhl in three games last week in Denmark while the Polish pair was practising with the Danes before the Yonex World Championships. The good news for Denmark however was the revival of Joachim Fischer Nielsen, out for a long time after an operation, who seems to be back in form as he and partner Christanna Pedersen beat the Polish.
Both Danish pairs will be featured in next week’s event in Paris.
