Bodin Issara and Maneepong Jongjit, who were suspended after getting into a fist fight during the final of the 2013 Canada Open, are to be partners again, according to a report from Thai daily The Bangkok Post. As partners, the two were ranked as high as #7 in the world and reached the quarter-finals of the London Olympics. The Post quotes Thai coach Sompol Kookasemkij as saying that all parties had agreed that the two playing together is Thailand’s best chance of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics.
Issara’s suspension was originally for two years, dating from July, 2013 but he was given a probation decision in December that frees him up to play under certain conditions. The two are not on the entry list for the German or All England Opens, which were released today.
