Malaysia and Japan will play a sequel to their round robin showdown in the quarter-final stage, as will Korea and Chinese Taipei.  Top-seeded China is to take on India, while Thailand will challenge Denmark in the two matchups that haven’t happened yet in this year’s competition.

Japan and Chinese Taipei each won their final round robin ties 3-2 on Wednesday in Gold Coast.  Japan lost their final mixed doubles match after already having clinched the tie against Malaysia, while Chinese Taipei’s mixed pair needed the win in the fifth match to clinch their victory over Korea.

Both quarter-finals from the bottom half of the draw will be played on Thursday evening while Japan-Malaysia (II) and China-Thailand will be on Friday afternoon.
