After Nathan Robertson carrying the English flag in Delhi”s Opening Ceremony, badminton will once again be under the spotlight in the Opening Ceremony of the upcoming Asian Games as Koo Kien Keat has been chosen by the Malaysian Olympic Committee to be the flag bearer for his country’s delegation on November 12th in Guangzhou, China.
The committee chairman, Ng Chi Chai, who is also the BAM secretary, said that Kien Keat’s selection was a good recognition for the association.
“We are pleased that Kien Keat has been given the honour to lead the Malaysian contingent in the opening ceremony on Nov 12 and we have accepted it. It has been some time that a prominent figure from badminton was given this mandate,” said Chin Chai to Malaysia’s Star newspaper.
