It’s prediction time. With the 2015 BWF Total World Championships coming up, we want to know how well Badzine readers can predict this year’s winners.

Rather than a straight up poll on expected winners, we’re asking two questions. The first is which 2014 World Champion you think is most likely to repeat in Jakarta in 2015. Chen Long, Carolina Marin, and Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei are all sure to return as top seeds.
Zhao Yunlei has also qualified again with Tian Qing but not having played together since the All England has left them ranked a lowly #7 behind six quality pairs from four countries. Shin Baek Cheol has never been ranked #1 in the world but he and Ko Sung Hyun are still in the top ten and are strong contenders for the men’s doubles title.

This year’s World Championships also features several past runners-up who are looking for their moment in the limelight on such a big stage. Lee Yong Dae has claimed silver three times and his partner Yoo Yeon Seong has been there twice himself. Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei has lost three finals too, but disciplinary action nullified his runner-up finish of last year.
Returning on the back of two straight runner-up finishes are China’s Li Xuerui in women’s singles and Xu Chen in mixed doubles. Ma Jin had already picked up the 2010 title before beginning her partnership with Xu. (In the poll below, these players with two or more runner-up finishes have the number shown in square brackets [2])
Chris Adcock was mixed doubles runner-up in 2011 and Jang Ye Na earned silver in 2013 in women’s doubles. Both are back with different partners this year. Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen, like Xu Chen and Lee Chong Wei, have Olympic silver as well as World Championship silver and would like to turn both into gold in the next 13 months.
Last year, Tian Qing and Ko Sung Hyun did it. Who can move up a step in 2015?
Please cast your votes in both polls and feel free to expand on your choice in the comment section below.
