The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has published some early confirmations for the Finals and the only surprise has come from Korea, which has confirmed disbanded pair Ko Sung Hyun and Lee Yong Dae for participation in the event next week in Kuala Lumpur.  The move will maximize Korea’s participation in the Finals at two men’s doubles pairs, as Ko/Lee will be joining Hong Kong Open runners-up Kim Ki Jung / Kim Sa Rang.

Ko and Lee have not played together since they won the China Masters in September.  Since then, Lee has collaborated with Yoo Yeon Seong to win three Superseries tournaments in four attempts but the pair made it only as high as 11th in the final standings.

Not going from Korea will be the injured Kim Ha Na, who has not completed a match since the French Open in October.  In place of Kim and Jung Kyung Eun will be their compatriots Jang Ye Na and Kim So Young, who were 9th in the Superseries standings.

All other qualified players from Asia have been confirmed for KL but no confirmations are listed for any of the five European qualifiers.
