Badminton has produced a gifted but fortunate few who see success in both mixed and level doubles and some of the game’s biggest names have made a real habit of dominating two disciplines at once, 5 of these – Christian Hadinata, Park Joo Bong, Ge Fei, Kim Dong Moon, and Gao Ling – even having done it at the World Championships.

2010 probably had less of this phenomenon but Lee Sheng Mu and Chien Yu Chin both did it in Canada, Koo Kien Keat did it at the Commonwealth Games and Ma Jin and Zhao Yunlei were both perilously close to locking up two even bigger titles last year.  In a Sudirman Cup year, this kind of talent will give head coaches that most enviable of decisions.

So who will be the first to close the deal twice in one tournament in 2011?

We’ll restrict our scope to Grand Prix tournaments and above.  Have your say in the comments section below.

Editor’s Note:  The first Grand Prix doubles double has been achieved by Valeri Sorokina! Unfortunately we did not have the foresight to include her in the poll’s list, despite the fact that she had accomplished this feat in 2010 as well!

The poll has now been closed.
