The Wangs’ era in China women’s singles has started since two years ago. It is difficult not to see them in the finals of every super series tournament nowadays. They will meet again in the final of the ongoing Maybank Malaysia Open.

Wang Yihan (photo), one of the famous three Wangs has booked herself a final ticket in the morning session of Maybank Malaysia Open 2012 by defeating Saina Nehwal 21-15, 21-16 in 41 minutes. This also meant that, it would be a all Wangs final in Malaysia Open again.
Again, Yihan still could not overcome her weakness as a slow starter, as Saina was up 4-1. Yihan then tried to speed up and started to put some efforts into rally making which made Saina to lose her patients and eventually went on a roll to win the first game 21-15. Yihan was much steadier in the second game and she wrapped up the match 21-15, 21-16 with a deep cross court smash. It is interesting to see that Saina cheers herself ‘Come on! Come on! everytime she wins a point and also the crowd in the stadium today were in favour of Yihan.
‘Both of us have played very well today, we’ve tried to save every shuttle that we could. But, today’s wind was relatively strong compared to yesterday. I have a perfect record over Saina in the past, but she is getting more difficult to play with. Also, I am happy that the Malaysia crowds was cheering for me during the match, I like the atmosphere here.’ Said Yihan after the match.
Easy win for Xu and Ma
In the mixed doubles semi final early this morning, last week Korea Open champion Xu Chen/Ma Jin (photo) continue their victory in today’s semi final as they carved out a clinical 21-17, 21-14 win over the Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir. Xu/Ma never looked to be under any serious threat throughout the whole match even they were one time trailing behind 10-6 in the second set. Ma Jin was just awesome today because her great dominance at the net makes her so incredible to watch.
‘The beginning of the game was quite tight, if either side could not handle well, the game will be gone.’ said Ma Jin after the match. She also added: ‘My excitement level does not reach the maximum in today’s match because I feel very tired after last night’s match. Our match ended very late last night, by the time we reached hotel, it was already 12 something in the morning. I still feel very sleepy this morning when I came here.’
On the other hand, Xu Chen said in a frustrating mood: ‘I think it is not reasonable to arrange the mixed doubles as the first match. Our match finished very late last night, we reached hotel by 12 something. After that we still have to take a bath, undergo some treatments and so on. We can only sleep after 1am. The organizer should arrange our match to be the third match or even in the evening.’ He also added: ‘I woke up at 8am this morning, I feel very exhausted and like what Ma Jin has said, both of us still don’t feel excited enough.’
