As every year, Badminton Denmark gets a nice Christmas present to all its badminton fans, with the Copenhagen Masters. This year will be special as the format changes a little bit as the event features men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles on two days only (no round robin matches but directly to the knock-out round in all events), with an amazing bonus: a special evening when Peter Gade will say his farewell to his fans with a magnificent present : bringing Lin Dan to Copenhagen for the first time ever. This confrontation against the best shuttler of all time will be Gade’s last match. Tickets have been out at the beginning of the month and were gone in… 7 minutes!
Gade will not feature in the rest of the invitational tournament, with clearly a sign of changes – the two shuttlers for Denmark are from the young generation – Jan Jorgensen and Viktor Axelsen.
