Kashyap Parupalli (4) retired only points after the match had started against Malaysia’s Lee Hock Hai, 3-4. Tommy Sugiarto lost to Teng Shih Hua from Chinese Taipei whileAlamysah Yunus was beaten by Indian youngster Srikanth K.
